The Wonders Of My HTC Mobile

Bookmarks of Internet sites

Every time I remember my first mobile, I couldn't help myself to smile and amaze how technology evolves so fast and did a great impact in ones life. I think it was during my last semester in college, around 1999, when my eldest sister handed over to me her old bulk Bosch since she had bought her new 5110 Nokia. Only few had mobiles before because not so many can afford as it was really expensive during those time and people don't really consider it yet as necessity. So obviously, I always got my new celphone out from my sister's old one. And I had been through different generations of mobiles, from black and white to colored one, from keypads to touch screen, and from sms to gprs. Just wondering what's next.

Now, for over 10 years span, mobiles develop and expand drastically. Every few months new models are introduce and release in  the market like hotcakes. And it became more techie, more convenient, more advance, more friendly and lots of new features that sometimes beyond what you expect and ask for. Currently, I have my HTC HD mini and I love it. I'm not a celphone buff instead I am more into computer and internet. I'm not a showy type of person who would buy often when new one is out or go for what is in. I'm not really aiming for Iphone because I consider it as luxury and even though I can afford it still for me it won't worth the same once I buy a laptop. Though HTC mini is kind of expensive but not as expensive as Iphone, I bought it because I am after for its features specifically the windows mobile operating system. While doing this blog I'm just using my celphone. I'm working here as domestic helper and so computer or laptop is not allowed (maybe) in my employer's pad as she is so mean with energy consumption. So my htc mini did help me a lot in many ways particularly with the use of the internet access. For just HK$78 a month or equivalent to more or less 450 pesos, I could have unlimited internet access and can browse over the internet the same way when using personal computer or laptop. I downloaded and used the  Opera Mini Beta 10 as my internet browser. It is so easy to use, fast and surfing friendly. I could open more than five windows and can do switching between windows or to other features of htc mini. Unluckily, Opera Mini couldn't play online videos and sad to say the Skyfire internet browser doesn't work with htc mini. Skyfire is really nice in internet video playing as I used it before with my htc touch pro. That is my first touch screen celphone before I oblige to buy the htc mini. Why oblige? Unfortunately, because of my negligence and carelessness, I dropped my htc touch pro straigth into the toilet bowl and so I don't have a choice but to buy a new one as my husband was already mad for I wasn't online for few days. Yes you read it right, I could also do online chatting with my hubby using my celphone. We save lots of money for txt and calls. I used to love the Nimbuzz before because I can chat in my yahoo messenger account and the same time can chat with my Facebook account. My friends wouldn't know that I'm using only my celphone to chat with them as it appeared as if I'm using a computer and I'm online 24 hours a day. But I switch it now to Fring because the last time I used Nimbuzz it is totally annoying. The updates they did on Nimbuzz doesn't work or compatible with the Opera mini beta 10 that it keeps my celphone freezing when using these two applications at the same time. So I give up Nimbuzz. Anyway Fring works the same way as Nimbuzz but facebook chatting is out. It's ok since I could open Facebook in my Opera mini and have an option to switch between mobile or desktop window. And of course I could still chat in my facebook since it works the same way like in computer desktop.
My HTC mini really impress me. Though it is really far from what the  Iphone could offer, still I'm amaze of its features and I think it is lot better than Nokia. Many would say that they would prefer Android over Windows Mobile as the operating system but so far I'm contended with the latter one. I couldn't compare the two as I don't have a chance to scrutinize the Android. With Windows Mobile as the OS of my htc mini, I can use the Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Note. I can upload and/or download these documents in/from the internet. Moreover, my htc mini has a Youtube, Tweeter, Google Map, Adobe Reader, Facebook Mobile, Wi-Fi router, Email Outlook, MP3 Trimmer, FM radio, WorldCard Reader, Java Blend, and a lot more. I really enjoy using my HTC mini as it offers everything I need. I can download games and other applications. I can transact my online banking in Metrobank using the mobile Internet Explorer. The phonebooks are well synchronize with my email and Facebook accounts and could put pictures and details on  each contact name . I really like the synchronize email as I can set my three email yahoo accounts, and can receive, send and read emails without literally opening on yahoo website to open my accounts. My messages just arrive like a txt on my three accounts and would notify me a sound or a blink that I have a new message. What a great idea. Now I know why Nokia is competing it hard to HTC because HTC did introduce impressive features.

This is just my review about my HTC HD Mini. I don't have really any idea how other cellphone brands operate and so I couldn't really compare much to its competitors. I wouldn't say that my HTC mini is perfect and excellent because it has also its own flaws. What I'm trying to convey is how technology did its great job in making peoples life easy and comfortable. Truly amazing...

Pilipinas Kay Ganda Not Really A Bad Idea

I wouldn't suprise knowing that many Filipinos criticized the new brand or design of the Philippine tourism logo. The mere fact that it was conceptualize in Filipino would really make a big buzz in our country. We are aiming for foreigners to visit and have the look of our country, how beautiful the places we are promoting, how cheerful and hospitable Filipinos are, and offer them something unique and never-been-seen things in their life or atleast in their country of origin. And so how could we achive this goal if the words are not familiar to them or they never heard of it?

But hey, think of it Filipinos, the idea is not that really bad. Use of Filipino or tagalog words may create curiosity or interest to some foreigners.DOT is maybe right that some countries were using their own dialect in their logos or brand and i think no ones complaining about it. I didn't  say that we must do it as well. What I'm trying to say is, let's make a try. Who knows it will create a positive outcome.

As you notice, most of foreign tourism logos don't really have a brand name or phrases on it. Just an artistic design and the name of country. Simple as it is. Some don't really use statement or phrases to brand their tourism. Simplicity is beauty. But i don't really give high credit to the ideas of DOT or kind of impress to their newly and suddenly scrap concept or brand. We may get ideas to others to come up something better but not to copy even portion of it because it would really create criticism and disapproval.
Now that the DOT was lambasted or castigated by different sectors and classes of our country, and then the news of resigning the undersecretary, what will happen now? Should the Filipinos will wait and see again what the DOT can offer or atleast cover up their mistakes? I don't know if it really come up to them (DOT) the idea of letting the people choose what they think is right and sound good. What I mean is by instead spending lots of money in hiring designers and letting only few people to select what is the best, why not let the masses do the art and let them do the selection. DOT can launch an online art competition for the logo as well as brand name or phrases or any suggestion anyone think appropriate to represent the country. In this way, they could get lots of ideas and concept which maybe better than what their designer created. This is also a chance given to Filipinos to showcase their talents and creativity. DOT will just sort out, prejudge and do the elimination.  And then let the people choose which they think is the best  through online voting and let them give feedbacks, opinion or comments. And so when it will presented in public, and if people will react, at least they can now defend themselves and use the feedback to fight with criticism.

This is just my suggestion on this issue. But for me,  I would rather give more attention to what our country could offer than this debating issue. Words of mouth is more powerful and effective  than spending lots of million for promoting and advertising.  Make our country clean and beautiful, peaceful and secure, accessible and organize, these should be given priority because first impression last and let the visitors do the promotion.  Smile Filipinos....

A Little About Me

I'ts been two years ago since I started trying to create my own blog but i wasn't able to mantain  and update it regularly because my work hampered me to do so. And also I was too hooked in facebook that every hour I checked and browsed over my fb account. But lately I found it boring. People just keep you updating what they're doing and show off what they have, whom they with and where were they. It may seem entertaining scrolling there pictures and write comments but sometimes some postings were nonesense. So I opted to blogging again because here you could write anything under the sun and could learn many things. So hopefully I could seriously maintain this account and could meet other bloggers and make friends with them. Just giving you a little info about myself ...

Rhenzy is not my real name. It's a name I picked and wanted to give to my baby someday. I don't really want to divulge everything about me so as to keep my personal profile private and of course I could write anything without any hesitation and apprehension that I could hurt somebody and they might take it personally against me or could make violent reactions and actions. But apparently, some of my items are about my life, the journey I have been through, the plans and dreams I want to share, my thoughts on something that gets my attention, just anything that pops up on my head. It's indeed a world of blogging.

To continue, I'm 28 years old and having a married status for more than two years to my long time partner. We don't have kids and physically we are miles away as I am working here in HongKong and  him in South Korea. To say it straight, I'm a domestic helper here  in Hongkong. On January 8 next year, my contract will end and hopefully  before that day comes I could have my visa already  bound to Canada under Live-in Caregiver Program. I'm really crossing my fingers on it. Actually, with the same reason as others would have, processing of papers here in Hongkong is faster as compared in the Philippines. But unfortunately in my part, it takes longer due to many reasons. Surely, in my future posting, I'm going to share to you the timeline and the processing of LCP so as to give idea for those who are interested. Anyway, as I said I work here as a domestic helper. I'm too lucky to be employed in a Chinese family who made my work easy and I could testify that
working such job is "paswerti-swerti". I'm just fortunate that my employer are nice and my works are not that hard but still I'm a DH. Unlike with my other friends who are "malas" with their employers, I'm too "
swerti" to clean a small flat, to look after a 6-year old girl, just market and cook our food only if granny can't make it, madam is not that meticulous interms of cleanliness, and lots of time for facebooking, reading online showbiz and news. I always left alone during weekdays since the couple are working and the kid is in school. Lots of freedom and surely I didn't feel like a slave. I really thanks God for it.

So since I'm working and living here in Hong Kong for nearly two years, probably I will share to you some of our experiences, adventures and stories. I'm going to tackle some Chinese lifestyle, make comparison to Filipino culture, the places you must see or visit when you have plans to tour HK, gonna give you info on transfortation, food and best buy, and anything that I think could help and benefits you.

I have 3 more months to go and hopefully in my future postings I could share lots of information and ideas about Hongkong. I'm really praying that I could have my visa before November ends so that if God allows me to journey a new place, I might do write ups as well to the new experience, challenge and adventure. Aja people!
